b16a runs rich and high idle.
hey guys, got a few problems on the swap. it seems to be running quite rich....i pull the plugs and theyre pitch black, and the car is trying to idle at 2000 rpm's. does anyone have any suggestions as to why it would run so rich......if i let the car sit for a couple of days, i have to pull the plugs and clean them, or the car will barely start.....on top of that, when i put more than 25 or so miles on it, it wants to misfire under load.....probly from the carbon buildup on the plugs (theres a LOT). theres no MAP codes now, or any other codes that would suggest a fueling/misfire/vacuum problem so i dont know where to start. the swap is in an 89' SI hatch with a pr3 ecu. it runs smooth, just seems to be down on power some and the misfiring problem occurrs under hard load once there is enough buildup on the plugs. ALSO, i still have to wire up the coolant temp sensor....could this play a role?
the chip i have in it appears to be stock...the writing on the top is green which matches everything else inside the ecu...i was given 2 other chips with the ecu but they have white writing on top and i havent messed w/them yet.
i'm also running an AEBS intake manifold, which doesnt have the iacv (or whatever it is) under the throttle body.

a stock chip will have 38256 as the chip number..
will have all bent up pins, because it was soldered in..
so you have some kind of spoon/mugen program that runs about 30 to 50% more fuel..
i suggest to get a custom one made up..
which i can do

nope just the one near the collector on my DC header. i've been told to switch one for the other, and ive also been told to wire them together.....dunno whats the correct way to do it, and which pins they are on the ecu. i'll check the numbers on the chip.
checked the chip, the numbers match the ones you gave me...its stock, but it is press in, theres no soldering to it. still dont know what to do about the 02 wires. i have a vafc and would like to lean fuel out if it naturally runs rich, but its running way too rich so i know there has to be a problem somewhere.
stock injectors, 89' SI wiring harness, aem fuel rail and adjustable fpr, aebs intake manifold, pr3 stock chip, dc header. fresh head w/some valvetrain mods but no porting. low mileage motor, block was rebuilt to stock specifications using oem parts only.
