Default 2006 SI system questions

It has come time for me to add a small system to the SI.....In my 2000 I had a full Alpine setup and was hoping to do the same since i had good results.

I am looking to spend around 200-300 on a deck....not sure whats a good brand out there as far as that goes. I will be adding 1 12' Alpine Type R sub..also looking for a good amp that will easily push this with room to spare. Hoping ot keep the amp in the 200-300 price range as well.

Can anyone suggest some good amp/decks?

Also anyone who added subs to the 06, do you lose the 8' thats already in it?

Also with a new deck will the auxillary hole under the stock deck still work for the new on if I plug my MP3 player in?

I am going to have it professionally done prolly at Best Buy since i am in the middle of nowhere so installation should go smoothly....I hope

Any information would be greatly appreicated.

Alpine HUs JL audio amps.

Yes you will lose the 8", although it could be made to work, there would be no point.

No the OEM AUX input will not work, just pick an Alpine with AUX input capability.

I don't know what other info I can give you other then to check out the installs of the BB, just to see what kind of work they do, it may be worth it to drive out of the middle of nowhere to have the install done. 94

being that your car is so new I would make sure there is a harness adn dash kit (if needed) for your car and i would make sure and give the installer some extra time to do the install

Good advice. Metra makes a kit and harness already (metraonline.com) so get the part #s and go from there. Strongly suggest that you go with all ALPINE again.

Or is it just because we are in Canada, do you have a model number for the Metra kit? 94
