Default dont know what it is!!!

ok guys i have a problem with my car. it is a 97 honda civic 4dr with a jdm H22a motor, everything works fine but the tranny grinds on 3rd and 5th gear. i bought the car with the swap and original owner said he slide off the road with the car not to long ago and everything was fine but the shift linkage need to be replace. so i was thinking that it may be the shift linkage but i wanted your opinion first before taking any action. if anybody can help me it will be greatly apriciate. thanks

H22 transmissions are notorious for 5th and 3rd gear grinds. The shift forks bend and wear out the synchronizers.

It's even more common in Preludes than in those cars. H/F-series transmissions are junk.
