question about hood spacers???
the logic behinde this it to grab the air flowing off the top of the hood and pull some down into the bay to help cool?
or
is it to give a bigger hole for the strait through air to push the hot air out?

The faster air flowing over the hood onto the windsheild creates a suction drawing the hot air out of the engine bay, think about it.
I hear the best part is that if you space it too high, the latch doesn't work properly, then the faster air flowing into the front of the hood pulls if from the latch! Then it smashes into the window, potentially killing you and others on the road in the ensuing accident.

wonder if this works. if its worth it any one tested out with a thermostat under the hood?
theres alreay a gap there with vents to vent the hot air out why add washers? ^^^^

I remember reading posts about this before and got some great evidence of heat loss including phrases such as:
"gobs of heat are removed"
Well thats enough evidence for me, but for those who want further proof can search around, I've seen many of these topics, esp in other model forums.
What i really want to know is how to make my turn signals all cheap looking and mounted funky like that guy! Thats some serious style!

I don't think you can just do that. That whole thing looks custom, front quarter panels, corner lights, headlights, front blinkers etc. There ain't no easy way of doing this. Or at least making it look like this car.

If you still want it here's a how-to.(It's for an Accord, but it's a generic mod).

I really see no need in doing this...does your engine really get that hot? oh and that guy in the DIY with the accord....yeah not to offend anyone on here that are of the spanish decent but wow that looks mexican...
You will need washers or some sort of spacers and longer bolts. After you get the rear of the hood the heigth of the hood where you want it you will then need to raise the latch or the front of the hood will rub on your headlights and bumper. You will also need to adjust the hood stops, if they don't have enough adjustment you will need to purchase longer stops. Will also need to remove any weather stripping towards the rear of the hood or this mod will not work to its fullest potential.

I will be testing it on my old integ. It's got hood pins so no need to worry about it coming off. Also I need to do anything to cool the engine when racing it here in AZ over the summer.
