Default Built auto transmissions for Drag Hondas?

Does anyone know of a good resource for information on picking up a Honda stalls and auto transmissions built for drag racing? Maybe something in the 500whp capable range?

Dont you think if someone made a tranny like that, the guys would already be using them? There is no such animal or you would have heard all about it.

I saw in Sport Compact probably 2-3 years ago they had a CRX built for drag racing with an auto trans. It's been done before.

Yeah, ever see the issue where they finished it? Thats right, they didn't.

Honda auto trannys are not designed for any kind of TQ, upgraded clutch packs, converters, doesn't help with anything over 200whp. Like was said, if it could be done it would have been already but the inherent design of the tranny itself won't allow that amount of power. Hell, stock cars have a huge failure record.

Good question, sorry I should have specified. 12.99 or faster? Just curious.

Truth is...as someone mentioned above...the design of Honda Autos has no performance aspects to think of. Heck they can't even handle the stock power let alone the addition of 50-100 extra ponies. JMO torque converters does make a stall converter for Honda applications that also requires the use of a external transmission cooler. Stall cannot be raised too high as it will automatically throw a check engine light....Check with them for details It was funny to hear about that Holley CRX auto deal...That was never finished! That car is now in someone elses hands(was a mess but, in good hands now!) and an auto is the last thing that is going in there as we have the 6 speed in our posession that will be going in there

According to the owner it was a stock y8 and it ran 12's, it was black also. Alot of people called bs on that one and he never backed it up at all.

Apparently you can add a couple of extra clutches to 1st and 2nd gear by custom machining the baskets, running hydraulic oil,and shimming the pressure relief valve or something. I never done it but a guy on here has, I think his user name is atcrx? Probly easier said than done though.

There was a guy that ran NDRA Pro 4 for awhile in his green CRX. It was a stock LS motor and LS auto trans. He was spraying pretty big on it and ran 12s, and I don't think he ever had trans problems. I think he was hitting it with a 2 stage 200+ shot. Dammit I forget his name....from the Bristol area.

I think HART was working on an auto trans that could hold some power, not sure if they still are.

my crx will run consistent 13.5s to 13.7s all day on a 75 shot sohc auto. tranny is all stock im sure it would hold for 12.9s but im preoccupied with bracket racing so i very rarely spray it anymore.
