y8 head equals y8 timing belt, and timing change of 4.5° (dont remember which way) also, 9 head bolts from the z6 and one from the y8

the head bolt closest to the vtec solenoid will be differant. you cant use a z6 cam gear on the y8 cam as far as i know, you will have to change the belt and figure out how many teeth equal 4.5°

y8 and z6 have different timing on the gears, and are not adjustable.

anyone know?

man i wish i would have known this 1 hour ago ... anyone have a cam gear for cheap?

and can you elaborate on the head bolt thing ... that is really weird. honda is usually good for not doing weird stuff like that. the guy at the parts counter is gonna think i'm retarded. how is it different?

the obd1 vtec head bolt hole is not as deep as the rest of the bolt holes, therefore honda raised that area on the head and kept the bolt the same lenght. when you put an obd2 vtec (y8) head on the z6 block the head isnt raised in that spot so you have to use one y8 bolt in that spot.
