Default Hesitation? Driving Me Crazy!!

hey, i gotta '99 Civic Si. When i'm driving and i give it anymore gas than a light acceleration it hesitates for about 1sec or so and then it will accelerate normal. it will do this in every gear, no matter what the rpm is. it will do it in neutral too. when i am driving and pressing the gas pedal about 25% and then floor it, it wont do it. there is no CEL and it seems to be getting worse. ive changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter, throttle position sensor, and dizzy cap and running 93 octane.. and ive cleaned out the throttle body, and it hasnt gotten any better yet. could it be my ECU?..... Whats wrong?

It hesitates when im in neutral too though, so I don't know how it would be the clutch.

If i have a few holes around where the air filter is, would that also make the hesitation happen?

clicking noise - could be ur valves tapping - the fix, get a valve adjustment

hesitation - could be gas, o2 sensor, ignition, - the fix new wires, spark plugs, higher octane, new o2 sensor, 93 octane

could it be that my computer is malfunctioning cuz I've changed my plugs, wires, dizzy cap, throttle position sensor, fuel filter and cleaned out the throttle body and put the 93 octane gas back in... So now what?

Try giving the IACV a good clean, not sure where it is located but for me it is on the back of the Intake Manifold.

Sorry to thread jack, but is it safe to drive with your valves loose/ unadjusted? I just put a skunk2 stage1 camshaft in and tried to do the valve adjustment myself, but I don't think I did the valves properly so i have the clicking noise and my 0-3000rpm blows. I doubt there are any car shops open on a sunday, so is it okay to drive on it until tomorrow?
EDIT:: mine's on a d16y8
