(( Raw Gas On The Bottom Of My IM, Whats The DEAL ))
Ok, I drive a 1997 Honda Civic Sedan w/ a stock D16y7 ( K&N drop in filter is only mod) and altough I get great fuel economy, I have always noticed raw gas in the bottom of the intake manifold when I look down through the throttle body. The only issues are the car has is a bad/ lumpy idle when cold, and sometimes lumpy when at a stoplight when warm. Also, when I let off the accelator, the engine kinda stumbles and does not react directly to the pedal. IT WILL NOT HIT REDLINE EITHER, and only makes it to 5500-6000rpm before it will not rev any higher. I took the throttle body off and cleaned everything I could, but the idle will not level out. Fuel filter just replaced, along with cap/rotor/wires/plugs. The egr valve seems to work ( I pulled the vacuum line and it pulls when cold) and the raw gas is always there!! What to do??

that also, i bet sometimes you tried to topoff your tank, and it fills up the purge tank under your hood.. had that happen a couple times at the mazda dealer ship when i worked there.. fixes everything

I don't understand why the drain at the bottom wouldn't remove all of the excess gas!! I did unplug the purge valve this morning, the idle is a lot better, and the throttle response has changed a lot too!!

I know its suppost to go lower, but it WON'T. I followed the procedure in the Haynes manual, and with the screw all the way down, it only idles at 1000 rpm when its suppost to be at 750
