Code 17 (VSS) and Code 41 (O2 Sensor Heater) Issues
On my chipped ecu I have the o2 sensor disabled.
My vss is fine, works perfectly.
When the code comes on there is no change in speedo action or car function.
Seems like the code come on when decelerating in gear (I have an auto, but manual ecu).
I checked the ground on the thermostat.
I had a different ecu in before this, worked fine until I let some loose wires burn it up,
Any ideas?
Thanks a ton, I tried to make all I know about it clear.
PS: my radiator fans have been on recently

when I put my o2 simulator in, the ecu was looking for the o2 input as well as o2 heater input, so i connected the 2 wires for the o2 heater together thru a resistor to simulate the heater circuit. as far as the vss, don't you need an auto ecu if you have an auto transmission?

I have disabled the o2 sensor heater, the ecu doesn't look for it, it worked for a good bit on my old ecu. The resistor trick also does not change the situation.
I don't need an auto ecu, my tranny only has full lock-up which I have simulated via constant 12v supply, works perfectly.

yes you do need an auto ecu if you are have a auto car....

No, you don't. What would give you that idea?

The tranny controller is inside the ecu... meaning with out the auto stuff in the ecu, the car will not shift correctly and the tcc lockup solenoid will never engage... the car will still run and drive just will not shift as well because of the electronic controls in the ecu are not hooked up!
