Is a B16A1 automatic slower or less powerful than a manual?
Recently I swapped out my D15 out of my Civic DX for a more powerful I thought B16A1. Don't get me wrong, the engine is a big improvement to my car, but when I got it it had a drive plate on it from an automatic tranny. I took it off and made it work for the manual, but I was wondering if the automatics are build differently or are just slower than regular B16's. If anyone has any idea let me know. I am also thinking about running 10 psi on it. Does it being an auto make a difference on how much boost I can run?
i had an auto B16a in my hatch. I drove a different EF with a 5spd B16a and the enigine just roared loud at vtec. More louder than my auto B16a! Felt a lil faster
The cams are less agressive, therefore, the valvesprings don't need to be as stiff due to the cam profile having less lift.
