HOW TO KNOW IF MY TRANNY IS BLOWN?!?!
ok i went out to test drive the car lastnight just around the block and the car was fine driving in 1-3...but in the last 5mins goin home all of a sudden the rpms were jumping up in down from 1000-2500 then it sounded like it popped outta gear, but the car died...so i pulled over and started the car again and it starts and i put it in gear...but when i release the clutch and give it some gas it doesnt go anywhere...i see the rpms raise and mph move and here a hum-ing noise when i release the clutch....and then i release the clutch all the way and the car doesnt even died, so what does that mean....is my tranny blown? any ideas would help thanks
did you smell a burn? sounds like you fried your clutch. from what you said seems as if it was slipping then just gave out. is the petal really soft?

did you race that car? is it the orignal clutch? if a tranny blows is generally you will hear grinds, and some gears you may not be able to get into. if I was you I would take your tranny off, then take the clutch off and take a look at it. if its all flat and even then you got a burnt clutch. hey its a excuse for a lighten fly wheel and clutch combo.
i guess thats probably it because i can still put it into every gear but it just doesnt go nowhere...and it the original clutch and everything never raced or anything
