Sorry to jack your thread, but I'm wodering the same thing. I have a GSR EG and looking to put back an OEM airbox... which one is best and will fit right in... I have the stock GSR TB. I have a choice of an ITR airbox or an SI(SIR in Canada) airbox... Please help me out.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Any reason for going OEM with the airbox?

take a short ram and cover it in the stock tubing and build a stealth intake out of it. Good for looks as well as getting in a good class for autox =P

That's your reason? I'm moving back because I like to keep the air my motor is breathing in cold (My car never came with stock airbox, nor did the swap)... and I don't want a CAI because I drive in the rain often.

Looking at the Blox IM on prostreet online looks a lot like a b16/itr intake manifold. You wont be able to use the GSR stock tubing because the tubing bends down (whereas the IM bends up).

Y don't u jus get cold air intake...... cut a line on the bottom of the stock intake and wrap that around ur cold air tubing.... u'll look stock and have performance... i've foold the local police around here.

i dont believe GSR stock tubing with EG stock box will work..different diameter tubing to inlet on box...(i think!)

best bet is gsr stock tubing with gsr box. or maybe you can fa'nagle an aftermarket tube with the gsr or eg box.

i have a factory 97 GSR box/filter that i'd be willing to sell to you if you need it.

okay that was some of the reasons. the other reason i want to go back to stock is like you i like the idea of my car breathing in cold air. i was think about running the stock air box and running a flex pipe from where the resinator used to sit and run it to the front bumper. therefor sucking in cold air serving the same purpose of a CAI. in addition, i want the stock look of the air box because everything else looks stock + cops hassle less if they notice everything appears stock.

a pic to show you what i mean

anymore ideas on how to get my stock airbox would be great.

keep in mind i dont want any ebay intakes or CAI

to heinz i'll buy the tubing from you if your wiling to sell just that.

well i did some research and answered my own question. here you go throttle bodies of the gsr and the all b16's except the first gen have the same throttle body size so im getting a whole 97 del sol dohc vtec arm and box. but then again i have the blox mani which looks alot like the b16 the way it curves up. i dont if that would help.

it seems people would rather reply to stupid ?'s about how much hp an intake would give.
