cluster swap help..

Default cluster swap help..

i just got a 00 ex cluster to put into my 98 dx.. but there was only 3 plugs coming out of the harness in the dash.. not 4 like the 00 ex so my tach doesnt work.. whats my solution?

Your cluster might be broken, well at least the tach portion.

when i pulled it, it was working fine.. does the tach have its own socket or is it part of one of the two big ones

i'm guessing the extra plug is for the rpm...the ex comes with the rpm guage...but the dx doesn't...thats my guess...

My friend had a dx and we installed my Si cluster in there perfectly. There should be two large blue plugs, which i'm sure you are aware of. There should also be a green one, which i'm sure you're also aware of. Look for a yellow one in the back left hand side behind the tach (remove it to do this) it might be wrapped up in tape. Hope that helps.

The tach wire is integrated into one of the two blue plugs. The wire color is <FONT COLOR="blue">blue</FONT>

This is normal for a 5-speed car.

oh, hmm.. i cut my ecu harness off and converted it to odb1 plugs to run a chipped pr4 ecu.. maybe i got somthing messed up there


could i run the blue wire from the tach to the dizzy?

Yes, better yet, I think near the driver side firewall grommet, there's a plug with a blue wire. Tap off that.

is there some type of fuse in the cluster that could have blown or making bad connection i wired the wire to it but didnt work still

Green is actually for cruise control, if my drunken memory serves me right.

so heres and update.. switched the cluster into another dx and it works.. wired it to the blue wire for the tach on the upper side of the enginebay and still didnt work.. what else is there to check?
