Official b16 JRSC thread
So I searched through the forums tryingto find some base information about the jrsc+b16 setup, and Im finding that its difficult to put some good information together specifically about a stock b16 w/ a jrsc. I have seen some dyno charts, and read up through the post up your jrsc thread, but its tough to sift through a bunch of information for different motors/setups pulley differences etc.
On to the questions.
A lot of people do have different reasons for building their setups, but for me I was a nice setup I can utilize on a stock motor that wont flinch at some autox/roadrace and some spirited street driving.
What are the combinations for boost? What jrsc pulley, alternator pulley...provide which boost?
What cam timing for a stock b16 is ideal....if this question is too general, what different setups yield which power... i.e. I was reading a dyno thread earlier and saw how one person made 240 a setup with one set of timing, losing torque, but then tuned it to differently to get 234 w. better torque...
What is safe boost for : road race, drag, street....ya ya i know its all in the tune, but across the board.... generally what are your experiences.
Are there any things that dont come with the kit that have become a standard for supercharged setups? Other then LHT of course....
Also if you have any other general information or experiences feel free...
Thanks
Eric

All of this is in the other thread somewhere in it's 130+ pages, but here you go (B16A2 was the first motor that I put a JRSC on):
-Stock 6 PSI unless you have good engine management
-CRV crank pulley and MVM stepper pulley for around 10-11 PSI will be fine with good tuning.
-Do cam timing on the dyno, but around 4 degrees less cam overlap on B16A2 cams will get you there, start retarding the intake cam 1 degree at a time until it stops getting better, you probably won't even want to advance the exhaust any
-cheapo Kamikaze header with 2.5" outlet into 2.5" exhaust (I like the Thermal Research stainless exhaust)
-get a LSD, especially for autox, you'll see why if you try it on a stock open diff, I like the Quaife LSD
-Hondata intake manifold gasket

With the amount of money you can spend on a type-r trans then the resale of a b16 trans, is there something that the quaife provides that cant be had by oem differential?
I don't know, I've never had a ITR diff, just the OEM open diff and a Quaife, but I've had hundreds of drag launches, many at 400+ WHP on slicks, destroyed final drive sets (among other things), and the Quaife is still perfect. That's why I like it, but I'm sure there are other things that will work.
Instead of a B16 thread which we have ample amount of info on. We need a K series supercharger thread including, comptech and jackson racing eaton blowers. I think the K guys need to come out of there shells, because these motors make really good power
I mean just for simplicitys sake...its tough t osort through 140pgs of jrsc info to get questions to a particular setup..I was thinkin we should have one particular to each motor just to make it easier to search....less newbness too..
