Default Safe to drive car with basemap?

Alright I just got my car running with the new turbo kit on it and the new built block in. I was wondering if it would be safe to drive the car to the tuner which is about 2 1/2 hours away with just a basemap for my car. I though it might be fine as long as I keep the car out of boost. Its a pretty big turbo, T3/T61, on a D-series motor so I dont think avoiding boost should be a problem. I run the Hondata S200b unit if that helps. Thanks!

Im still using the stock injectors as of right now. The wastegate is at 7psi and I dont ever plan on hitting boost until its tuned. I've only got the car to idle to this moment as well. I was just wondering if it would be safe to take it anywhere like that.

If you can keep the afr at 14:1 or lower at part throttle driving, and your timing is conservative you should'nt have a problem. Do you have a wide band?

why not just disconnect a chargepipe

I'd be very weary about driving it like that, especially if you don't have a wideband.

What about taking out the wastegate spring so boost doesn't have a chance to build up? Taking apart the charge piping might let the turbo spin too fast.

I've seen people do it all the time, but the wg spring thing is a good idea as well.

That's why you get a basemap, so you can can drively conservitavely to the tuner.

WHAT!? Umm I always drive around at high 15's for cruising. You'll lean misfire WAY before you can expletive **** up under 10in/hg so as long as you arn't misfiring your're fine. Timing under boost should be stokc anyways on a basemap.

Leave it on. Don't listen to these guys. I always have customers drive there cars to me and have them on a basemap. Even though the timing and fuel is ultra conservative in boost I tell them not to put there foot down more then 40% and to shift before 3k rpms. Never had a problem. Talk to your tuner, I'll bet he agrees

you'll 100% will stay out for boost if wastegate spring removed.. i've done it wouldn't go past 0psi when i hit throttle. and even better.. injectors are easy to replace.. simply use stock injectors and ecu, then reinstall with larger injectors, even if you have obd2 car, you can modify the injector plug to fit into obd1 plug so when you get there everything is plug n play.

I've done it before, just keep an eye on the boost gauge and keep it out of boost.

Like he said, keep your foot out of it and don't wind it up and you should be fine.
