can i drive my newly turbo'd car without fuel management
im waiting on my ecu to be chipped, and i need to drive my car. everything is hooked up but i didnt put that seal thing in the wastegate and it is open all the time and im not building any boost before 4000 rpm. so could i drive it around without any worries as long as i dont go into boost? just for like the weekend?

If your waste gate is open your fine to drive it around with no turbo management since your not making any boost.
Basicly your still NA.

if my car does see a little boost and goes into limp mode then is it still ok to drive around like that?

Yea sure....Just use the "apexrift" way of rebuilding your new motor....

No, if you dont have fuel management dont do it. If you knew you had to drive the car you shouldnt have put the kit on the car in the first place knowing your ECU wasn't ready.

Re: (nonvtecD)
would i be ok to drive it across town because its in a storage building and i need to get it home. i was just asking because i would prolly just drive it like to the store and back and i wasnt planning on trying to beat on it or anything. plus i put in the boost gauge and like h-t said i wasnt planning on boosting so i thought it would be the same as n/a

Re: (crx88fast)
Remember, the engine will only work off of the pressure it sees, so if you disconnect your charge pipe, your engine will see no boost and run just like and N/A. Just make sure you boost controller keeps the turbo from spinning up/keeps waste gate open.

depends on what you have done to your car.
if all you did was slap on a turbo kit you should be fine if you dont hit boost.
if you built your motor, upgraded the injectors, or anything that would change your A/F ratio, dont drive it. to much fuel will wash your walls and cause metal on metal contact causing pre-mature wear. to little and you will be the victom of detonation
if your 100% sure your A/F is straight then drive away and keep her out of boost.
platinum.

i also vote disconnect the piping.
the only way to overspin the turbo is if you put too much load on the engine, so at least its the turbo that gets wrecked rather than the engine.
