Default d15b8 w/d15b7 intake manifold....burning coolant during idle? help please.............

as the title states, i have a 94 dx coupe which i have swapped in a d15b8 and kept the bigger d15b7 intake manifold. you're probably thinking "why the hell did you put in a weaker engine," because my b7 blew up and i just wanted a new engine. i can swap my head over later. anyway i got it to start up and when my car idles white smoke comes out the exhaust, indicating that it is burning coolant (which is currently water). is there an idle controller with a coolant line that i should check? any help is very appreciated the motor only hs 90k on it

Sorry, I just gotta laugh cuz you're from fenton missouri,

I love missouri and I know a guy named fenton, so I need to make fun of him later.

Anyway, what IM gasket did you use?

brand new b8 im gasket. i told the guy i at advance i was using a b8 engine with a b7 im, but i'm sure he didn't know **** about civics and i'm prettysure i've got a b8 gasket. that's what i remember seeing him put into the pc...civic cx, not dx. didn't use any gasket-maker on it or anything. doesn't appear to be leaking.

and sweet. you friend has a town named after him. or vice versa. that's a weirdass name

Hmm. Are you sure you routed the lines correctly? The d15b7 has the fitv that the d15b8 does not, so it's a little different.

i just took the fitv and blocked it off, and connected the coolant lines according to this

Ah, okay then. I'm lost except for mehbe the gasket.

When I put the b8 im on my b2 (obd0 b7) I used a b2 gasket and it turned out fine.

Mehbe the new engine is just sucking *** somewhere internally?

i called the guy that sold it to me and left him a msg asking about it, i doubt he'll respond. i don't know why. when i bought the engine he gave me a shady vibe, but it runs great. i've got to drive it now anyway because of work

however the intake manifold gaskets weren't torqued to spec so i just torqued them to spec. i think they were a little tight. oops, pinch.
