Default nitrous...

hey, quick question...

in my 91 lx, with the f22a1, would a nitrous system be a good thing or no? if it would, would i have to upgrade plugs, fuel system and clutch/flywheel, right? how high of shot should i go for if i do? what are some good brands to look into? i have searched some, but a lot of the results i got where wtb or fs threads...

Well if your gonna use it then it's gonna be a matter when your engine eats its self. So I hope you have enough around to replace it...

I do believe your motor would take a 50 shot all day and like it!

well, good info, my current motor has about 200k on it, so its nearing the end of its life, so would i have to replace some of the internals to make it handle the NO2 better? im just wondering what i would have to do to my car to be able to handle at least a 50 shot...i got an intake, cheap ebay one, should i get a better one? so then i would need FPR, plugs, and wires? anything else? where does the NO2 mount? how to i connect it up, or would there be instructions with the system? anything you guys have to offer as far as whats all involved, would be helpful, perferibly from people with expiernce.

Port Washington? it is about 30 miles north of Milwaukee, right on lake michigan

I would definatley recommend a window switch. If you have an automatic, you can set the window switch to only allow the system to spray at rpm's between shifts in order to preserve your auto tranny. If you have a manual, you can set the window switch to an rpm setting below your car's red line/fuel cut (fuel cut + nitrous = blown motor).
Other than that...a strong motor, two step colder plugs, 91+ octane fuel, and you'll be ready to go. I went to Zex.com before I bought my kit and read everything I could about nitrous. All the instructions for hooking the system up come with the kit and can be found on the website (at least for Zex it can). You should be able to install a kit in 3-6 hours, depending on if you go wet or dry (dry is a little easier to hook up, although wet kit's are generally regarded as a better kit than dry).
Good luck

okay, the spray is activated by a button, right? kind of like on the fast n furious? so then wouldnt i only spray when im accelerating, not shifting? it is a manual tranny.

yes and no, better kit, such as Zex have a computer box, it's more like a idoit proof device that suppost to keep you from blowing up from doing stupid thing.

Zex kit are know for being the safest kit.

You should run a compression test on your engine.

Edit: that writeup isn't completely accurate, but it should give you some good info on nitrous.

i read that, good info, so if my motor makes around 130 hp, i should run about a 60 shot? so i should get colder plugs, and i still dont get what the retarded ignition thing is...and how would i do that? do the bottles come in whatever shot? how much would a good wet shot(60) cost me?

those accord motors are stronger than what most people think when it comes down to Nitrous.... i made a mistake of putting in the wrong fuel and nit. shot jets well letts say it comes about to be a 132 shot lol on stock every thing spraid for a couple of weeks then ran out of Nos so when i do my check every time i get the bottle filled i found out that i had put a 52 nos and 32 fuel .... they really should make those numbers more notice able lol but that 132 shot was so much fun
