MAKE Gas prices go down
We are going to hit close to $3.00 a gallon by the summer.Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea:
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is
super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.75 for regular unleaded in my town.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50-$1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the
marketplace.... not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!

And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

Here's the idea:
For the rest of this year, DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL( This includes BP). If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon
and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp (sic) out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it
to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends
each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people and DON"T purchase ANY gasoline , food, ciggarettes, or use the pay phones from EXXON and MOBIL just use their bathrooms not only will they need to lower the price of their gas they wont be able to raise the prices on other items to compensate. That's all.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to
ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO A REASONABLE RANGE AND
KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK

Even if I trusted humanity enough to fathom that something like this might actually happen, I really don't think it would do a damn bit of good. I'm about to embark on a rant that escalates to outright acts of violence, so I'll shut up now.

 

Uh yeeahhh actually buyers don't control the market in this particular case. People NEED gas to get to their jobs, do the things they want to do, etc... We are straight up whipped on this one man.

but ****, they charged me $2.71 last time and the total was like $25 for my CRX

 

In most places around the world, gas is at least 5 dollars per gallon.

 

It makes perfect sense. If you are selling lets say, OBX mufflers for a CRX and you have 10,000 of them at $25 each and all of a suden people stop buying them, what are you going to do to keep selling them?

You would lower the prices. Then the market would pick up again and you would be keeping the industry moving.

Now tell me why the idea is flawed.
People boycot products all the time.
I hate Wally World with a passion so I boycot all their products. Now if enough people buycoted Exon/Mobil then why would the prices not drop.

Anyway I think it's a good idea and the math is right.
I stopped a week ago when I got an email with the same story in it.
Think and do what you want. I've always been different and wouldn't expect anyone else to understand.

 

Makes sense to me... is Safeway gas on the ok list?

The full tank of gasoline in a CRX costs me 67US Dollars. Its cheap there.

 

Safeway is ok.
Oh yeah did I forget to mention that Exon/Mobil made a record $36,000,000,000 last year. That's 36 Billion dollars.

If my calculations are correct we pay $6.22/gallon (NOK 11.5/liter) in Norway at the moment. And we regard it as cheap when the prices drop below $5.4/gallon (NOK 10,-/liter)

 

im not worrying to much. The next alternative to oil is out there we just havent found it yet. we came across oil we will come across something else. its right under our noses. im not talking about electric becasue that isnt perfect yet either. most of those cars are going to be **** is a couple years because those batteries are two expensive to replace and batteries do and will go bad so you cant trade the car in, it just becomes junk.
i like the idea but sadly i dont think it will work but on the bright side i already dont buy gas from them two *****

the fact that i can hang with a mustang and i know that he is burnin twice as much gas as me makes me chuckle

this **** wont work man, as a consumer, we have no control over gas prices. and ya u drive a 4 cylinder car that gets 30+ mpg, what are you complainintg about? if you dont want to pay for the gas, then dig your bike out of your shed and start pedaling, or do what ive been doing, start jogging a mile or a 2 a day. then you will spend less on gas cuz ur not driving your car, and running/jogging is good for ya, increases the size of your heart, burns fat, stronger legs
