LS/vtec ignition and cam timing
I have a built up ls/vtec but with no timing cover and I was told that there is a mark on the face of the oil pump where i can set the ignition timing but i cant seem to find the one i was told about. does anyone have a pic of this mark?
On another note i have aem cams gears that at the moment are set to 0 and i was wondering how you set them on a DOHC engine. The head and block have been shaved although i cant remember the exact amount.
If anyone can give me a hand with these two issues that would be great...thanx in advance

I dont have a pic, but it is true, there is a very small mark on the oil pump itself that when lined up with the line on the crankshaft sprocket reresents tdc. Another way to do this, kind of ghetto is take out the #1 spark plug and stick a long screwdriver down there and rotate the crankshaft until it comes all the way up. your camgears should be lined up at this point. If there are upside down then you are 180 degrees off and rotate the crankshaft one more revolution. The screwdriver will go all the way down then all the way up again. When it reaches it's peak then your cam gears should be lined up and you are at TDC. Hope i explained this right, good luck
