your right gsr's didnt come with those, only b18c1's in the usa...if someone has a carfax they could run the vin to see what happened to it...but usually if a motor is stolen they take off the tranny tag. good lucking out though

I am overly cautious on this forum for the simple fact I don't desire to be banned again. Hopefully the engine is legit and the current owner takes no offense to me raising a flag.

 

Well from the serial# it came from a 2000 itr

 

It has a gsr tranny check the vin JH4DC23 8.

Exactly.
Come on man, I know you have to be iffy of stolen motors, but I don't think it's right to call out someone just because the car didn't come with that motor. GSR's didn't come with Turbo either. Motorswaps or so common these days, you can't have the mentality that every motor is stolen.

 

yeah, it is good to be cautious, but mentioned above motor swaps are pretty common these days. maybe finding out a little more about the VIN on the motor through carfax or something before you create a thread like this

Good call Arb.. at the slightest hint of anything not 100% legit, these guys jump all over it like they're on CSI or something (see what happened on my last post about lojack and see how that blew up). Not realizing there ARE people that work hard to get that C5 or anything else Type R related in an Integra or Civic.

Did I ever state that it was stolen? With a bit over 3800 B18C5 total produced... why is it that I've seen over twenty civics and other cars swapped (with B18c5) just in this area. People like you is the reason that these forums suck. You aren't a god because you own a type R so get the hell over yourself(s). That's why I posted the engine code... if the guy didn't want people to know what his engine number was then he wouldn't have posted pictures of it on a public forum. I was thinking that someone on here in fact would be the detective and look it up. I don't have a carfax account.

Guess I'm just not H-T material... and now I know that I don't really care. I've learned a great deal from a few people here that actually desire to help... and a to you. I look forward to getting my car on the track with the other elitist.

 

not flamming. you know, some guys do a type r swap in a gsr. just cause you see a C5 in a different car doesnt mean its stolen. and if it is then that guy will get whats coming to him.
