Default Heat Core Q

I know, I've searched and there were tons of threads. Question is, does the heater core only leak when being used or does it leak no matter what?

Damn carpet is all wet now and I need to know if not using it will help keep it a little more dry.

Default Re: Heat Core Q (LSEGHATCH)

It depends on the car, but I belive mine on my Sol is only ussed when the heater is selected. If you pop the hood you should see a valve of somekind on one of the heater lines. If its there the leak will be miminal but if its open you will lose more fluid.

Only way to stop the leak all thoghter would be to disconnect the core under the hood and loop the two hoses toghter.
