welding oil pan on veichle...?
Well, the other day i welded on my oil return bung into my pan, and sadly it seems to be leaking.. (backed off fitting a bit and threads were dry), and it looks like its comming from the weld. But i am new to welding so its all good.
Now.. i didnt fill it with oil till today, and ive got EVERYTHING else back together.. way to much work to pull it again.
Im thinking of just backing off the return line fitting, and giving it another pass with my mig.. the oil is drained ofcourse..?
Am i good to go?
EDIT: Others have told me to clean it up, and give it a coating of JB weld, i would rather not do this

maybe not?</TD></TR></TABLE>
I drained the oil, and i only welded a very little bit at a time.. It didnt get all that hot, everywhere, just in the direct area i was welding.
Came out much better this time, i used a 0.035 mild steel wire vs the 0.023 stainless wire i used before... (it was in the machine) much better penetration.
Should i use teflon tape on the fittings?
