Default Will JB Weld work on an oil pan?

I have a pin sized hole in my oil pan and it drips a bit. Is JB weld oil resistant? It doesn't say anything on the package.

It's all about the prep work. You'll have to remove the oil pan to do it. Clean it up real good and ruff up the surface with sandpaper. You'l have to let it sit overnight before you reinstall it. I used JB weld for my turbo oil return line and have no probelms/leaks.

Yeah I used it on my Moroso pan and I was just real careful in prepping it since its aluminum. I bottomed out one too many and out a small stress crack near one of the brazes and after the Jb weld it has'nt leaked yet

Yeah, for just a little hole it will work fine.
I had cracked two oil pans on my old Grand AM, I tried JB welding the last one and it worked fine for a while. But, after the expanding and contracting over time, it failed.

Well.. with the hassle of having to pull the pan off and cleaning it.. You might as wel take it out and get ti welded up instead

The question really is what cant JB weld do???? like mentioned before if your going to have go through all the work of pulling the pan, try and get it welding. If you do use the JB weld way, clean the pan really good and sand the paint off the pan where your going to use it. The jb will hold no problem.

JB Weld will seal almost anything up. I have used it on everything from oil pans to radiators. The key is the prep and letting it cure properly for a day at room temperature. Dont' know if it was mentioned but make sure not to use to much if you are apply to the inside of the pan. And once it has cured try to break off any loose part, it will just save you some headeaches later.

I'm doing it on a Moroso pan too. There is an invisible leak on one of the seam welds. I'm going the JB weld route now to avoid removing the pan. I drained the pan and cleaned the area very well. I'm letting it cure for a few days before I put oil in it again. If it leaks after this, I'll pull the pan and have it welded.

I'm really surprized the pan is leaking. I bought it used for cheap and it does not have one scratch on it. I has a slow drip at one of the bottom corners right on the weld. Might have been bad from day one, but the guy who sold it to me did not say anything about a leak. Also, it leaked from the day I first put it on, so I know its not something I did to it while driving.
