Civic no oil pressure after turbo install?
Hello I have a buddy of mine that is just pulling his hair out after he installed a turbo on his 1.6 v-tech motor.....He as disconected the fitting at the rear of the block and there is no pressure, removed the oil filter and there is definetly no pressure. He replaced the oil pump and started the car only to find no oil pressure still. He removed the oil pan again and pulled the pickup tube and blew air into it just to check for obstruction.???????????

ive been having a problem with oil pressure myself, i havent gotten to the point of my turbo install yet though. My problem was, i had my d16z6 bottem end rebuilt, and after putting it in i had no pressure. So i also replaced my oil pump, still nothing. I primed the oil pump, got a little, not alot but some oil pressure after that. Then i went to Honda and bought a new oil pickup gasket, replaced that and BAM **** load of oil pressure, however my oil filter and oil sensor is still not getting oil to it, but oil is spraying everywhere into the head as it should. Im not sure if that helps but all it was was my pickup gasket for me, he may want to spend a couple dollars and replace that just to check, good luck
This is my theory, think about if you were trying to drink some soda out of a straw that has a crack in it or a hole, you get maybe half of the pressure when trying to drink it since its allowing air pockets in there. Thats my guess on it, how accurate i am im not too sure, when i replaced my pickup gasket there was a small hairline crack the didnt even strech halfway across the gasket, so i think thats all it takes.
