There is a little black box under the passenger side dash board. Its bolted on with a few screws and it says Honda A/C serial no. on it. What is it used for?

Was mounting some lights under there and the box is really in a bad spot.

If its for the air conditioner, i really dont need it do i? I dont even have a/c on my engine.

Nope. Only a rubber insulated tube that leads into the dash and maybe the engine bay.

 

Update: the rubber tube does lead into the engine bay. Its short and it opens out pointing toward the ground, as if it were to drain something. Anyone know what this is before i gank that ****?

Take it out, If car does't work right, reverse process. It's called trial and error.

My guess is AC condenser. I just took that out the other day... It's the black box right next to the blower.

the condenser is the radiator looking thing in the engine bay on the drivers side. Next to the actual radiator.

The only thing I can think of that has a rubber tube leading down is the evaporator case, which is a big black box. If you don't have a/c and you don't use the fan at all then you can pretty much "gank that ****. while you're at it, might as well take out the blower and heater core if it's there. btw, heater core has coolant lines so you'll have to reroute them and flush your coolant system if you do.

y do u guys keep saying condenser?? The condenser is right next to the radiator. The part that goes in the car is called the evaporator.

 

that would be your evaporator/ blower moter and if you pull it out you won't have a heater any more....
