im thinkin about puttin a b20 in my 92 eg sedan
i really want a vtec motor tho
but im going wit the b20 for now til i can get money for a vtec head
i have $1500 to spend and im going to order one off line for $800 with no tranny
im sure i need ls IM and a b series 5-speed tranny, mount and linkage, ecu
whatelse will i need
ive done an ls swap in my 92 hatch im sure its not much different right
and i know they say a b20 cant rev past 7000rpms without block damage or sleeves but i was wounder has anyone ever gotten near 8000-not daily but maybe on the strip

run a b-16 tranny that **** would be pretty quick and yes you can rev that high but there is no power there you'll just run slower that way
oh yeah and you may way to get some decent like stage 1 or 2 axles ( torque man )
otherwise its the same ****

If you had a B16 transmission and a B20B/C you would have a very nice low to mid rpm torque curve. If you replace your stock flywheel with a Streetlight Flywheel from AEM you would also have a few extra hp/tq and it would rev quite fast (I had the same setup until I got a GSR head slapped onto it). I'm actually considering a B20 in my 2000EK just because I like the torque and it gets decent gas mileage for going to school and work until I'm school. Once I'm done I'll put the B20 into my other hatch and put a K in my EK....wow I got off topic..sorry.

1500 might not be enough. but if you can do it do it. i just finished a swap for a friend. its a 99 b20B with a gsr tranny and st 1 clutch. it pulls hard for being all stock

i think ill stick with it
I dont want to sound dumb but on password JDM it say longblock only
i know than means no tranny, ecu, or mounts but what does come with the motor
I think i can pull it off with $1500 it will be cutting it close
plus im going for AC its gonna be a hot *** summer and i dont wanna sweat to have power (did that b4 in my hatch swap
)

if i was to get the 97 do you think it would still be around 146hp at 7000rpm b/c like i said b4 those number are shown at different rpms
i guess thats do to the fact that they were runnin automatic trannys and and the ecu and rpms may have changed up over the years or is there something different with the internal of the motor
