Default build the d series or swap it

hey all. i recently pulled the y8 out of my 96 ex. it has 2 spun main bearings and all the rods are a lil f-ed. i put together a list of the way i would like to build it. i have a budy at a motor shop so i get cost on parts. for 1700and some change i can fully build the y8( bottom and top end) or i could swap it to a b18 that i have from an ls teg. i would like the car to be fast, but im not sure what would be more cost efective. do i swap to the ls with a vtec head or do i build the d y8 so that it will take a 150 shot? i was gonna put arp mains, rods, and head bots. block gaurd, crower stage 2 cam, crower ti retainers and springs, ferrea 1/2mm oversized valves, full head work, wiesco 12:1 forged slugs, eagle rods, coated bearins and pistons. an edlebrock performer intake mani, bisi header. thats what i can get from him for the 1700. then i have to spend a g on hondata to tune it to make it work with the itb's. after all that work it will take a 150 shot. that means 300 to 350 potiential horsepower. but in the same respect do i drop in the b 18 with a b16 head thats totally done up with itr or ctr parts? im just not sure which way to go. sorry for the rant but i just need to get this out there and see what the majority of you think. thanks for all the help.

wtf, i dont get what you are saying, so your saying you gonna but a edelbrock intake manifold on but why are you talking about tuning the itb. You cant have both on its either you stick with the edelbrock or going itb

Do a swap to a b series less hassle and more reliable.
