Default Engine theory help(dont visit this forum enough I know i know...)

So, ive got my daily driven piece-o-metal. The game plan is keeping no-vtec. Why? Esh...many reasons, top one being money pit.

besides this thing needs to pass smog without knowing someone that knows someone that killed someone. So...deez nuts say...

Taking my b18b, sleeving to 2.1ish. Pistons in the compression range of 10.6. oem rods and crank as well. (1,200 for sleeving and pistons + assembly. sound right?)

Now, ive heard the ls head can be put to good use, anyone care to comment? Redline will not be moving. Passing smog is key please; i dont care about street legal. Consider a budget of 500 or less for the head.

In the end, 2.1L neighborhood numbers; 180hp and 150 tq. to the wheels.

Reasonable? Quality control > Quantity control.

hybrid_vtec is your friend...he's got a 1.8 putting down around 175.
Headwork is a must... a p8r would be nice, if not you would greatly benefit from a larger intake valve...I'd go into depth but I'm at work and its quittin' time.
