Default My axel is stuck... wtf

I cant get it out. Axel bolt is off and its seperated from the tranny. It seems like it just stuck in the hub. We have heated it, beat it and wd40'd it and still nothing. We even took the entire knuckle out. Isn't there a dust cap inside the hub? Could that be holding it up? What other options do I have? Thank you in advance...

sledgehammer with the axle nut half way in with the socker over over it and pound on the socket or a air hammer

hold one hammer on the end of the shaft and hit it with a bigger hammer, it will keep it from mushrooming as bad.

I've had a few of those. Best thing to do is remove the entire steering knuckle with the axle and run it down to a machine shop and have them knock it out. It might cost a few extra bucks, but it'll save a few extra hours.

Use a large gear-puller, and use an air tool to turn the spike. If that doesn't work with a store-bought gear-puller, then take it to a shop and they will have a larger stronger one which will be able to take more power from an air tool.

EDIT: JUST an example so you can have a visual idea.

There is a better one that I used before. I can't find a picture of it.

If you already "started mushrooming" the end of the axle, it's worthless. Cut it out and buy a new one.

Try hitting the center of the axle with a BIG PUNCH and a BIG HAMMER. Worked for me in the past.

yeah he is going have alot of fun. I had a chrysler once that fucked up on me. I was pissed 3 hours getting the axle out of the hub. It was litterally welded to the hub. Littery impossible to cut it out, would it come out. Heating it up, going at it with air hammer it was fun. ended up having alot of fun with a torch. It wasn't fun.

If I was him I would make someone elses life misarble, some shop that he hates. Take it over there all together like nothing happened. Tell them that he need the axle replaced and have the salesman promise him that that's all that going to cost him to replace it. So when they find out they have to remove it and they can't charge the custumer a **** load they will be pissed, lmao.
