Default 2nd gear problem...

heres a problem...hopefully its nothing major.. But when i drive normally, goin from 1st to 2nd, it goes nicely into 2nd gear and then into 3rd, etc. But when i downshift from like 3rd gear to 2nd gear, i can never get it into gear, it never wants to go into 2nd gear coming from 3rd gear or 4th gear. Any ideas whats going on? what should i check?

thanks.

it's completely normal depending on how fast you are going while you're trying to downshift. it's pretty much just a saftey thing for your tranny...

try pumping the clutch twice... and also give it a little gas to get the rpms up. Which I hope you do anyway before dropping down a gear.

check your clutch hydraulics for leaks. if no leaks.. you probably got a worn 2nd gear syncho or shift fork.

im leanin towards the shift fork...since it goes into 2nd gear easily and nicely comin from 1st, but comin from 3rd, doesnt happen at all!

Thanks guys

Are you rev matching when you downshift? The shifter should however still go in, it'll just be jerking depending how hard you let out on the clutch.

Also try, the double clutching method or when your 3rd gear let out on the gas, the shifter should come of of 3rd gear freely without pusing in the on the clutch. Push in the on the clutch now and see if the shifter goes into 2nd.
