The top one is found on the 63mm, 65mm or 70mm systems, and the one with the bottleneck is the SPL "Street" muffler. Both are still in production.

when i went to order my exhaust, they told me the SPL has been discontinued. I know with the older versions, one had a bottleneck and one didnt. i had the older version without bottlenecks and it looked like your first picture.

For the DC2, the Power 63 is the only system still offered.
The Power 70R is listed, but is not released.
The Sports Muffler is the rear section unit w/ flange that uses a donut gasket. This piece as well as the B pipe units have been discontinued.

User TRELLIS just posted up some pics recently.

This is so confusing b/c after the first release, there were many redesigns done to correct fitment issues and what not - this was 3-4 years ago.

Hope this helps.

So basically if I want to grab the T1R cat-back now only the 63mm power version is available.

I really wanted the SPL muffler

the 63mm is the only that has been available for a few years now. as far as i know, the spl muffler doesnt look any different then any of their other mufflers.

The 63mm is the 2.5" system correct?

Technically it is a 2.48" system. The 65mm (2.55") version which was out in 2003/2004 had a few fitment problems, specifically around the fuel tank, so T1R reduced the diameter to reduce the number of fitment issues. Problem solved.

I believe there have been either 3 or 4 changes.
You are OG if you remember that you could get the entire canister in Ti. It proved to be too expensive and not very popular.

The 65mm did have issues and there was a huge delay getting the units in to replace those having issues.

The 63 offers nice gains, though, without the fitment issues.

To answer one ? above, yes, the 63 is the "2.5" unit.

That sounds about right. I ordered mine right when they restyled them in '03. There is no T1R stamp on the muffler, and it is the true 65mm version w/no bottlenecks.

The next design I saw was similar, but they added a T1R stamp on the muffler.

The next redesign I believe was the 63mm version, and from the pictures I've seen in the past, there are bottlenecks at the same locations as the factor piping.

I remember that one, I was thinking about it until I heard it for the first time, damn was it loud. Rivals that of the BC-II.

The week I was going to order the Fujitsubo RM-01A the new T1R came out. Similar looks, but with the added performance of true 2.5". The Fujitsubo still gets a from me for being super quiet and giving modest gains.

To FAST4DR and R&D Motorsports, I ordered my T1R from them back in the day and have been way too impressed with the product.

Thanks. I have invited Ben, father of the T1R, to come and clear up anything we all might have missed.
Now if I could just get him to do a true 3" setup for turbo cars...I cant stand the Thermal I have on my EM1...
