how big is the piping or did u just get a muffler? and its probly cuz theres alot less backpressure, so u may accel slower but ur top end should be a lil faster.

My stock piping was way smaller than the inlet of the muffler i bought (2.5 in)...because a piece of piping about a foot long was added...does that help?

Could be that the added sound the muffler gave you is fooling you, making you think, with the louder exhaust note, you should be pulling harder, when in reality nothing really changed.

for one thing what kind of car do you have? More than likely you should probably use a muffler with a 2.25" inlet. Also replace all of your piping from your catalytic converter to the muffler with 2.25" piping. You could PM kteller8 on this site and ask him about getting you some custom piping. Or you could just go to a muffler shop and get them to install some 2.25" piping. If you go to a shop it will probably be crush bent piping though which isn't as good as mandrel bent piping.
