Default auto to manual swap on sedan - 99% done, got a linkage problem - TOO LONG

well i have my auto to manual swap 99% complete on my 91 ex 4 door. but when i went to connect my linkage to me tranny(its already connected to the chassis) it was too long by about 2 inches.

are all d series linkages the same(minus del sol)?? i got mine from image plus customs on ebay and they said it was from an ef? are 4 door linkages shorter?

any help please!!!

All 88-2000 D-series linkages are exactly the same.

My friend is using '98 DX on his '91 Sedan. And I've used EG linkage in my previous car.

You need to contact that seller and get a refund or something.

Unless it's an adjustable linkage....crank that thing down until it's the right length.

well i just went out a bolted it up by the shifter area and measured how long it is and it is about 1 7/8" longer. i have thought of redrilling the two holes by the shifter but it seems like the hole the shifter goes thru will be too small, and no sawzall. hmm.....

cut and re weld? drill holes first?

think they sent me an integra linkage with a civic shifter by mistake?

If you aren't going to try and return the linkage, take the measurement to a REPUTABLE welder and have it shortened. I had to have this done on my son's 91 DX hatch when we converted from auto to manual with his b16a swap. Ask people you know for a good welder because I've heard if it isn't done correctly it can be bad news. Good luck to you , you're almost there!

if they did send you b-series linkage, you will probably be better off reselling the b-series and locating a d-series linkage. just an idea before you try to modify yours. if you do go the cut and reweld way, just make sure that you run a couple straight lines down the length of the linkage so that you can make sure that it is straight when you go to reattach it.

ok here are the pics, the shorter one was the one i recently pulled yesterday from a 89 civic dx hb. the other one is the one i have bought from import customs in nc.

is it a b series one? if so what year? 90-93 maybe?
