ive searched and i was wondering if there are any write ups on how to change the oil pump on a d15 civc i was wondering if i will have to drop the engine on one side and also how hard is it to do this
any help will be apreciated

so no one has changed an oil pump on honda-tech?

 

Its not that bad. First you will have to remove all belts, oil pan, main pulley, side cover. You will want to put a jack under there somewhere to hold the motor up because you will have to remove the side motor mount. Be carefull where you put the jack and use a board on top of the jack. once the cover is off you will need to remove the timing belt and why your there you should replace your water pump and timing belt. Trust me you do not want to have to do this again. If you have any more ???? let me know.

 

when you say main pully do you mean the balancer?

 

the main pully is tha one connected to your alternator belt

ok, once you have it down to timing belt, remove the timing belt, take off the outer belt guide and then oil pump gear (the small one behind the crank pulley) then the inner belt guide. once you have it down that far its time to pull the oil pan. with the pan off take off the two 12mm bolts holding the pickup tube to the main girdle, then take the 5 12mm oil pump bolts and use a rubber mallet or wood block to tap the oil pump off the end of the crankshaft. reassembly is opposite. make sure to use new water pump and timing belt at the very least. i highly recommend doing the oil pan gasket as well.
