Okay how would you adjust your cam gears while you are tuning your car with you valve cover over the gears. What im trying to say is that you know that little piece that goes over the cam gears i guess to keep you fingers safe, how do you adjust your gears without takin gof the valve cover???

 

you are supposed to cut it so you could have acces

 

Either cut it off or trim it so you can get to the cam gear(s)

 

I've seen people undu all the bolts holding on the valve cover and they take it off. Adjust gear, and just "hold" the valve cover back in place while the engine is running to check how the adjustment did for their engine.

Kinda sketchy but saves time if you don't want to keep taking it off n on or cut your cover.

thanks for the replies guys yeah i was trying to avoid cutting it but i guess thats what will have to be done.
