when i push the car, take it to redline and then put it in neutral the rpms will go down and then the oil light will come on. I checked my oil and there is enough in the motor. the car has 110K miles. then the oil light will start to flash afterwards. It only does it when i take the motor to higher RPM's, if i drive the car normally the light will come on ocassionally, what did you guys have to do when your light came on? I bought an oil pressure gauge and hopefully i can get it installed soon to see if my pressure is ok..

 

try replacing the oil pressure switch

 

im not usually taking the car to redline but thats when the light will start to come on. I know its not the sending unit because me and my friend replaced it with another one and the light still came on. usually when the car is in neutral and im turning and at idle the light will start to come on. When i do get my oil pressure gauge installed tommorow, what numbers would be low or bad numbers?

 

have you check your oil pump?

 

^ that is what im dreading... paying a shop 200 to change it plus the cost of the pump :/
