Oil press. light is on??
i just recently took out my Autometer oil pressure gauge and put the factory oil press. switch in there and i just noticed that when the key is "on", (car not started) that the oil press. light is on. when i start the car the light goes off... i'm guessing it is no big deal considering i am getting press. because i am able to run v-tec, but why the hell is the light on? anyone else's do this?

No...not everyone! If my friends B20/Vtec did this i would not be asking. And he still has the factory oil press. switch. In fact, his isn't even connected directly to the block. It is connected to a rubber hose which is connected to a fitting on the block.
yes
EVERYONE
the oil pump only pumps when the engine is running, its not electric like the fuel pump.
so when you turn the key to II there is no oil pressure so the light goes on, when the car is started, it goes off.
your friend probably had a burnt out light.
