In my manual it says connect the ECU to the test harness. Where do I get this test harness and how much is it?

 

Are you talking about the tool to use to pull Check Engine Light codes from the ecu?

If that's the case, all you need is a paper clip. There is a plug near the ecu that has one green wire and a brown wire coming out of it. (There might be a neon green cover over the plug if youve never pulled a code from the ecu before).

With the key in the "OFF" position in the ignition, take the paper clip and bend it into a "U" shape and stick it into the plug to complete the circuit. Turn the key into the "ON" position and if you did it right, you will see the "CHECK ENGINE" light flash. A long flash is the first digit, a short flash is the second digit. For example.
!........!.....!!..................!.............! .......!!.... = 22

Two long flashes, followed by two short flashes. If there are multiple codes there will be a long pause in between.

did you get any help with finding a test harness? b/c i have a service manual and it is needed to test for just about evey problem. What did you end up doing??
