Default OBD1 and OBD2 IAT Sensors

Do the OBD1 and OBD2 IAT sensors have the same voltage/temperature readout? I have a boosted D16Y8 and I'm not really interested in jamming the IAT sensor in the intake tube and hoping it stays in. I have an idea for how to hook up the sensor, but I need to know if both sensors read the same voltage for a given temperature value, i.e. if you can switch between the two sensors with no problem. Thanks.
