the best advice I could give you is go to the tire section and ask nsxtasy he will give you more details on what to look for. He nearly had every tire so he know his stuff.
Also the SPT is a little cheaper then the Es100 but just as good.

You mean there is tire help in the tire forum?????
also answer these 6 questions when you post there.
1) what is the make/model/year/package of car you have and are there any mods.
2) what is your budget
3) what size rims do you have (include offset if you have it)
4) what is the climate that these tires will see? If you live in a snowy area do you have dedicated winter tires
5) what is the purpose of this car? Drag strip? Auto-X? Getting groceries? Daily driver with weekend play?
6) what is your budget and what is more important long life or stickyness?
Cheers.

For normal everday driving, non snow tires, i've had my yoko es100's for a good year with a little aggresive driving. They still are holding up and passed PA inspection just recently.
They are also great in wet weather which i wasnt exspecting. BUT THEY SUCK IN SNOW!!!!! obviously.
And for 195-55-15, 63.00 a tire isnt bad at all
just my .02

And you can't go wrong with a goodyear tire, you have proven performance (not aggressive), warranty, and they'll last a long time. I've seen them in quite a few cars (not from factor of course). I am supposing you are not looking for a sporty/performance oriented tire, because this is not it.

You can't compare treadware ratings between different manufacturers. I don't think you can even compare it between different tire models. What you can compare is what they warrenty or gurarentee the tire for. That should be a good indication of tread longevity.

Indeed. One would actually be hard pressed to find a time when research does not come in handy in life.
