best tire
i kno u guys might be a bit tired of hearing this question but there are so many tires out there. ive got 2 questions
1. i need a 195/55/15 tire. $60-80 range per tire. i live in california so winter driving would consist of rain here and there. tires i was looking at were the falken ziexs and the kumho ecstas. ppl tell me not to get the kumhos for some reason but i've been running the 711's for a while and i've had no prob with them. throw some tires at me guys
2. is tirerack really the best place for tires? any other places?

my friend just got toyo proxes 4's 195-50-15's for 60 a piece from express tire (dunno if theyre in norcal) i believe they had a "AA" traction rating and like 300 treadwear (maybe 280) theyre said to be a step up from the fz4's and a step down from the t1s's
Tirerack is the ****.. i live 10 mins from it. great customer service and good prices..
what ever you do.. do not buy tires from discount, montieth tire, sears and other major tire retailers. tirerack supplies most of those places with tires... so u know what that means. up the cost so the little guys can make some doe.
personally i would go with one of these tires.
Every tire that they get in there warehouse is tested on there auto X course. there snow tires are tested at the Notre dame university hockey rink.

I have done some research on 10-10 Tires in addition to TireRack, but I like TireRack better, personally. I think the site is better designed and laid out.

Falken Ziex tires suck *** IMO - I owned a set and I hated them. No grip and they break away with no warning whatsoever.
I love Falken Azenis though, but they don't make them in the size you want.
I'd echo the Yoko AVS ES 100.

The Yokohama's are great tires. Mine have treated me well over the the last year and 2 months.
EDIT: great for all season driving, but im leaning towards Falken Azenis though for locations with dryer conditions.

i dunno about the yokos. i was running that exact same tire along with 3 ecstas. the only reason why that tire was different was cuz one of my ecstas blew and i had to buy another tire (a year ago) and i bought the es 100 and that's the one that ripped on saturday. i'll look into the toyo proxes 4 but do they have those at tirerack? i dont think so right? and the bf traction's look good

why did the yoko rip? it may have been subjected to something that would have ripped any tire.
i have been very happy with my ES 100's for the price. they do start to loose some grip as they age tho...

I live in cali also, and wholly recommend the ES100's. Good grip dry and no problems in the wet we get in cali. But if you're of superstitious nature and for reasons you dont want to get the ES100's, the Falken Azenis 205/50/15 will fit your car (I ran it for a while). But I only recommend it if you're changing both the right and left tires.
i have yoko es100's on my 92 teg. i hate it. i lose grip like crazy and hydroplained twice on the freeway last night. or maybe it could be my gay *** suspension in the front. hahahah dont quote me but i dont like the es100's
yea i really dont wanna give them another run but seeing as how i cant find toyo proxes 4 anywhere. and im not sure if thats even in my price range. and i like the azenises as well but i cant afford those either. i guess the avs es100's are my last resort
Try this out http://www.discounttiredirect....rd=15 Im a Sr Asst Mgr at the Texas Distribution Center. Just get a hold of a retail agent at 1-800-707-8473 and tell them what your looking for they may be able to compete with others prices.... Tell them Corn sent you
nice site...how do the nitto nt 450s pin up agains the es100s cuz they're only 4 mroe bux with a 300 treadwear rating and the es100s have a 280 treadwear rating
edit: god dam u guys got some cheap rims

The 450 are not as good as the es 100 but if you want a kick *** tire the yoko ao32 is the choice.. I did a ride and drive with Yokohama back last summer and those tires handle good wet or dry, and they also had the es 100's too on the cars
hey guys, http://www.edgeracing.com has hella low *** prices. and they have a 195/50/15 toyo proxes 4 for 58 each. shipping is a little mroe than tirerack, but they carry falkens and toyos. has anyone dealt with them before?
