Coolant bleeding ?

Coolant bleeding ?
I was told the way u bleed coolant is to take the cap off start the car and let it run and it would let all the air bubbles out. Theres a bleeder nut (10mm) on the upper radiator hose how do u bleed it from there? My problem is that my car idles up n dn 4 about 30 sec. before it drops to idle and then when I hit the gas rt back to doin it again. Could bleeding the coolant b the problem?

I have no idea wtf you're saying there lol
The way to "burp" the coolant is you wait till the car is completely cold, pop off the radiator cap off, start the car, turn the heat on defrost and turn it all the way up. Let the car warm up till its at normal temperture, add more coolant as it burps down until it doesn't bubble up anymore.

this is correct, do not do it on a hot car, let the car sit for atleast i would say 2 hours to be safe

Because coolant spews out EVERYWHERE as soon as you take off the cap, and not to mention the cap is pretty damn hot. And the coolant inside is no exception.

the reason why it spews because of "flash point".
coolant in your sealed system is under a different pressure environment (14.7psi-g), making the boiling point higher. once you upon up that radiator cap, that sealed pressure zone disappears and is exposed to atmospheric pressure (14.7psi) where the boiling point is lower. in a flash, the coolant immediately boils.

Because when you open the rad. cap while the car is still hot coolant will splash all over you which in turn will give you pretty bad burns.

what i was about to say that, but he just covered it. That and under high temps, You take the cap off, run. Ive seen coolant hit ceiling in our auto shop class in highschool

Y? because it is better too be safe than sorry... main point is.. "Stupid people, do stupid things"
sure he could say cover it with a rag.. but a stupid person might do something dumb like grab a thin dish rag and use one layer too not get his hand wet, or some other idiot rational/thought...... and he would get scalded and scarred...
or maybe hed use a "Shop Towel"(blue thicker Paper towel)
working in the automotive field.. I am amazed at how stupid and incompitent people are... its unbelievable
