Boost creep/spike/smth: Tial WG 44mm.
Hey Fellow H-T's,
I have an build b16 with t3/60-1 turbo. Currently @ 7.4 psi @ 267whp. See my setup @ http://www.cjperformance.com
My tial wg has a 0.5 bar spring. But after looking @ my datalogs i see that 7500rpm> my boost creeps up to 8.1 psi.
-full-race manifold(prostreet).
-tial wg 44mm.
-My dumptube is besides my exhaust till after my block.(no exhaust gasses in my engine bay)
-3" downpipe
-2.5" exhaust
-Vacume hose comes from edelbrock mani to an 3 way spilt.
>1 going to my wastegate
>1 going to my bov(backdoor IC)
>1 going to a boost solenoid which is disconnected)
I can try to remove boost solenoid and then put a 2 way spillter just wg and bov.
But i like to hear comments what could be the problem
Thanks
CJ

What you are explaining sounds pretty normal at low boost. Just tune for it up top, you wont have a problem.
But if you are having the exact same issue at higher boost you might have another issue.

yea even really large wastegates will have trouble with boost creep if you have a larger turbo thats on low psi since so much exhaust is diverted through it instead of the turbine.
Calvin, That's a pretty normal creep for a setup like yours. I wouldn't worry to much about it. One more reason I'm not crazy about the wastegate placement of most of the turbo manifolds being used.

What would optimal placement be for a wastegate?

With a ram horn manifold, the only way to totaly eliminate low boost creep is to run 1 really big gate or 2 gates, if there was an optimal wg placement on a ram horn manifold low boost creep on a efficient turbo setup wouldn't be a problem.

As explained above.. I love your lude..
I don't wan't to jack Calvin's thread, but here is a short thread on the subject of ram horn vs sidewinder wastegate placement: http://forums.evans-tuning.com...ight=
