most boost made with a 35mm wastegate
Whats the most boost ever made with a 35mm wastegate , and how with what boost controller?
The highest spring rate i can find for a tial 35mm is 11psi, and with a turboxs boost controller it max out right over 20psi.
Is there any way to get 28psi out of a 35mm wastegate?

I hit 20psi with a 35mm. I plan on upgrading to a 40mm for more boost. I think the limits on the 35 is 18-20psi roughly.

remember the more boost you make ,the less exhaust you pass through the wastegate the larger wastegates are more accurate at regulating boost.

but if the spring pressures in the wastegate cant go above 11 psi, it makes 28-30 psi of STABLE boost pretty hard to come by. We might be addressing this in the near future

the hp gates that use the double springs can reach arround 20is on the springs alone

Nope.
where does the MORE Boost have to pass through once it goes through the motor? More boost creates more exhaust gases. Sure if you have a higher target pressure the wastegate won't NEED to flow for a longer amount of time......but when it does need to vent, its going to have to spill a lot of gas to be stable.
the only thing I don't understand. 38mm -->> 40mm is a big price increase. But only 2mm. I'd go straight to 46mm from a 38. This is all Tial by the way

that is why a lager gate is more accurate

How would a hybrid Tial 35/40 compare?
It has the stabilty of the 40mm with the 35mm flanges, right? So it could run higher boost, than say, the 38mm. Or am i wrong?

gudeh23a- did yours max out and you could not boost any more, and what spring are you running

Re: most boost made with a 35mm wastegate (DLB1994)
It's precision now sucka! hehe
No it did not max out at 20psi. It seems to work quite well with the avc-r right now. I believe I have a 7lbs spring in the tial right now. The reason the car was not tuned for more boost was because we (group of guys) were on the dyno all day long and I think our tuner was getting tired since it was 5pm.
So do you guys recommend the 40mm for a 25-28psi set-up or should I just go for a 46mm? I plan on running only 13-14psi on the street daily though...

ok how about 38mm with 1 bar spring , will it be good enough for 30psi of boost ??
someone mentioned that inline pro 9sec car is running turbosmart 35mm
thanks
