ok, the motor is not toasted! The mast is simply broken. Take out the entire antenna. Pull the mast out. Unscrew the plastic cover and pull out any broken off plastic pieces. Buy a replacement mast off ebay for $20, and call it a day.
Crutchfield also sells replacement masts, $9.99 plus shipping and they gaurantee it'll fit.
I saw two for Hondas, here's one: http://tinyurl.com/r8ghc
If you want to go through Crutchfield, call them and see which one is right for you.
I also recommend calling the dealer, just see what the OEM price is, maybe the price will suprise you (I doubt it, but it's possible).
For future reference... once a year or so take some WD40 and a paper towel. With the mast extended and with the towel behind the antenna, spray down the antenna. Wipe it down, retract it and extend it again. Wipe it down. Do this another few times until the paper towel is clean. The Honda owner's manual might actually have a section on antenna maintenance (my Volvo's manual does, which is basically what I said to do). For what it's worth, I paid ~ $22 for a replacement antenna for my Volvo though it's 4-sections (not two).

I believe the OEM replacement from Honda is ~$30 or so. I got one for Christmas after the antenna would not go up. As long as you can hear the motor trying, then the mast should be the only problem.

i have a 5th gen and my antanna is on the windshield.. im not sure if its a possible swap or how it could be done, but if u want a shaved antanna look and its possible to do that type of swap you should do that, if it costs less then a s2000 swap.. thats just my opinion
no its like a sticker lookin brown lines.. looks like the heater lines on the windshield.. i mean i have heating stripes.. but i also have the antanna also on there.. its hard to explain id have to take a picture.. but its night so id have to wait till tomorrow, howeve if someone knows what im talking about and posts a picture it would save time and effort
(heck i could even be wrong no one has ever really comfirmed thats where my antenna is, i just remmeber P and some others were asking why do people tint only the bottom 3 quartes and put a big black stripe on the top and people were saying b.c thers an antenna there *Shrugs*)

you can take the antenna assembly apart and turn the gear over and reassemble after using the proper lube.
99.9% this will solve your problem.
All 5th gen coupes and all of the 6th gen cars have their antenna intergrated into the rear window.
