Default tensioner problem

I need to loosen my tensioner on my b18a1 ls/vtec so i can do my timing belt.now I cant get it loose.I think its almost all the way stripped.I can get a 12 point socket on it but im scared to try and break it loose cuz i might strip it more and my 6 point will not go on far enough to stay on when we try to break it loose. Now before I pull the motor is there anything else i can do?Thanks

if the head of the bolt is stripped go to sears and buy the stripped bolt socket kit, they are majic on stripped ****, obviously order a new bolt too.

Did you try vice grips? Those work very well on these items. I had a stripped hole when i did a timing belt on a 91tt 300zx. I had to heli=coil that thing- not fun but it worked well.
