which way would you go?
Hey guys need your input on this, here is my thought. i want to boost my car so i figured i would buy a pre-made kit (ex. greddy) then i would upgrade parts from there. do you think i should do that or do you think i should build my own custom kit. just a little thought ive not very knowledgeable so i thought if i got the kit i know a mechanic pretty well he could help me put it on and then upgrade from there. need your help, thanks in advanced.
well i think it depends on how much u want to pay also..cuz i dont think GREDDY kits come cheap..doing a home made turbo kit can be better and cheaper too..never know though..wut motor u plann'n to boost?
My kit:

for a downpipe im not 100% sure but when i do this i am also going to do 3" exhaust so what would you recommend for a downpipe?
also show me some sites for the stuff i still need to complete my kit. for explain for oil lines, couplings, charge pipes?
There is the kit i would put together still need some input on some parts.
could someone give me a list with sites of the stuff i still need.

do a search for stealthmode oil line kits also check out D-series.org and turboD16.com I had a Greddy kit myself and I do not reccomend getting one if you plan to upgrade it! They make good kits for ppl that just want to bolt on and go but I dont like the upgrade options as you have only greddy turbos fit greddy manis for the most part
also look at JRC intercoolers they are like $250 brand new and have been known to support more power than you will likely ever make. Johnnyracecar.com I think. Really if you want to talk to alot of SOHC turbo guys check out those 2 sites lots of info and other ppl that have done exactly what your doing
3 inch dp on a 3 inch exhaust? if ur gonna go that big im shure ur wanting to produce alot of power..so ur gonna need alot of things..if you still need help on what to buy just ask..and dont forget to get a tune up too, very important..what parts do you have as of now?
do you have ani mods on ur motor as of now? u should get a new catalytic converter..i put an ex one on mine..but its something to think about cuz ur gonna have to do it one day..i'd also go with 2.5 exhaust for a d series..i dont think alot of muffler shops will do ani bigger aniwaise..they didnt let me do a 2.75 on mine so i just made my own exhaust hehe..but i'd think on how much power u want to produce and how u want to run it( daily driver or track)
well if you got deep pockets probly the safest and in my opinion the best kit for the d16 is the edle brock (spelled wrong) turbo and intercooler with all the other junk you need but wat is cool about it is it has secondary injectors that flow extra fuel wen the boost gets high enuf.basicly for about 3800 dollars you can have an awsom kit that lets you run 12 pounds of boost on a stock d16 and trow down 210hp to the wheels. but obviously not a lot of people have 3800 dollars just sitting in there pocket ready to blow so the cheapest way to go would be build one custom. but as far as i know you can only do about 6-8 pounds of bosst on a stok engine. good luck with what ever you do though.
