try looking in the forced induction forum
or check out http://www.turbod16.com
and you could build a killer custom setup for a lot less money, with better parts

You can definitely look around HT and find a better kit for cheaper and push more boost. Not unsafe levels, but higher than the greddy limited 5.5psi. Not to mention I have heard bad things about edelbrock, such as wastegate malfunction and boost spiking so bad that motors blow.

i had 2 kits on my y8 and loved both of them, IMO i would go turbo, its cheap funa and it makes decent power. And about the edelbrock kit, my buddy is running ~18psi and making over 300whp. not to shabby and hes had no problems.

Hm, maybe that was just a few isolate instances, I have no clue. But my friend sold a turbo kit here on HT for a D16Z6, he got $1250 for it, and the kid that bought it is making around 240whp right now

personally speaking, if you have never boosted a car before, the greddy kits are made for you. Come with EVERYTHING needed to boost. If you want to up the boost, you would need to get an intercooler. I personally recommend piecing together a kit. You can buy better things. I would say the only thing the greddy kit has on my pieced together kit is the manifold. I am going to use a HF manifold. But my turbo size, injectors, piping, and most importantly fuel managements demolishes that greddy kit.
I have ran a greddy kit before and it worked out great. Boost built quick. Was pretty fun but I think I will be more happy with my current kit
