shift linkage help!!!!!
i am doing a front end rebuild and i am replacing the cut and welded shift linkage with a brand new one. my problem is that the linkage is rusted solid to the selector lever that comes out of the tranny. i have tried pb blaster overnight and it is still not budging, i was wondering if anyone knew how to remove it
anyone know anything on this site, it seems like evertime i post something the only replies are people that want to light people up for the things they say but never give any advice.

i removed the bolt that was in there cause the person before me didnt have the pin in there, and it still would not budge. i put vice grips on the rod comming out of the tranny, and pb blasted the connection point between the two, and i hit it with a hammer and a screw driver and still nothing, i have been driving for the last couple of days with no bolt or anything in there

I'm also trying to get mine out now and its a big pain in the ***. I've tried beating on it, grinding it flush to get rid of any rolling, and nowdrilling. I broke off a small punch inside of the pin and it seems to have made the pin wider and harder to get out. Today after school im going back to drilling the bitch out and replace it with a nut and bolt.
there is no perfect size botl of that, there will be alot of play in your shifter. you have to use a flat punch, you can use one with a pointed tip because a pointed tip will make it expand further only locking it in there more. flat punch is the way to go, i know i bought a flat punch at sears and it fit it perfect. sorry idk the size of it
